Student Green Challenge

Why not switch off your monitor while you’re away from the computer? How about cycling to university once a week?

Do you and your flatmates have what it takes to attempt our Student Green Challenge?

We’re encouraging students across Dundee to take on six simple actions that will save you both carbon and money, with a new challenge each month.

As an added enticement, every month that you login to this website and let us know how many people in your flat have achieved the challenge, your flat will get entered into a prize draw, with a chance of winning some great prizes!

If you’re already doing the challenges, that’s brilliant! But in terms of feedback, we’re more interested in those who have started to do these actions since taking on the Challenge.

Where are you studying?

University Of Dundee

Your challenges are:
  • October: Reduce your food waste
  • November: Put on warmer clothes instead of turning the heating up
  • December: Make a birthday card or present instead of buying one
  • January: Donate unwanted items to charity shops instead of binning them
  • February: Switch off your computer/monitor every time you’re away for a long period of time
  • March: Walk or cycle one day per week (instead of driving or taking the bus)
